Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Machining Apprentice and kick-start your career in precision metalworking! Duties
- Assist in setting up and operating CNC machines such as lathes and milling centers under supervision
- Learn to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate machining processes
- Support in setting up and programming cnc machines
- Use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators to verify part dimensions and quality standards
- Conduct basic manual machining tasks using hand tools, grinders, lathes, and power tools for secondary operations or adjustments
- Participate in machine maintenance, calibration, and safety inspections to ensure optimal performance
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment to promote a safe manufacturing process
Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or coursework related to manufacturing or machining is a plus
- Basic understanding of mechanical concepts and familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers
- Willingness to learn CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings accurately
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and understanding machining tolerances
- Mechanical aptitude with interest in metalworking, machine setup, and precision measurement techniques
- Prior experience with manual machining or use of hand tools is advantageous but not required; training will be provided
