Duties
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on refrigeration units, HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, and electrical systems to ensure optimal operation.
- Install, calibrate, and upgrade appliances and mechanical systems in accordance with schematics and technical specifications.
- Diagnose issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools related to HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) systems.
- Conduct inspections of refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, and other mechanical equipment to identify potential problems before they cause disruptions.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, fans, motors, valves, and electrical wiring to restore equipment functionality.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used in compliance with operational procedures.
- Lead small teams during complex repairs or installations when necessary to ensure safety standards and efficiency are met.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician with a focus on appliance repair, HVAC/R systems, refrigeration or mechanical systems repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals accurately.
- Hands-on experience with appliance installation and equipment repair in a commercial or retail setting.
- Familiarity with maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) practices within a supermarket or similar environment.
- Construction experience is a plus for understanding building systems integration.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems including air conditioning units and ventilation systems is essential.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide team members during maintenance tasks.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently using diagnostic tools and schematics.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with store management and vendors effectively.
