Overview
Join our team as a ReStore Sales Associate and play a key role in promoting sustainability and community support through retail. ReStores support Habitat’s mission by providing affordable housing and diverting usable items from landfills.
In this role, you will engage with customers, assist with merchandising, and help maintain a welcoming shopping environment. This position offers an opportunity to develop retail skills while making a positive impact in your community.
Primary Responsibilities (under the direction of the Manager)
- Greet customers and provide excellent customer service
- Operate the POS system, including cash handling and basic math
- Answer phone calls and emails, and schedule donation pickups based on location, volume, and route availability
- Assist with merchandising, including stocking shelves and organizing displays
- Maintain store cleanliness and organization, including sales floor and back stock
- Post on social media to promote products, new arrivals, and store activity
Specific Duties
- Schedule pickups and organize routes in New Hampshire
- Complete sales transactions and answer phones
- Clean and prepare donated and purchased items for sale
- Price small items
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, bathrooms, windows, shelves, and merchandise
- Organize aisles and displays
- Lift and move furniture, doors, and other large items
- Wear Habitat apparel as required
Responsibilities may vary as needed.
Expectations
Staff must be team-oriented, organized, and committed to customer service. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to handle money, and an understanding of product limitations are required.
Minimum Requirements
- Ability to bend, reach, and stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Experience
- Retail or customer service experience preferred
- Supervisory experience is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling
- Strong communication and phone etiquette skills
- Experience with merchandising or stocking is helpful

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
