CommuniKids Preschool is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and compassionate Mandarin Assistant Teacher to join our bilingual early childhood education team. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with young children, values cultural diversity, and is committed to creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
As a Mandarin Assistant Teacher, you will work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher to support daily classroom activities, foster children's social-emotional and academic development, and help create a positive learning experience for every child.
QualificationsEducation & Certification
- Must be at least 20 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education is strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Fluency in Mandarin is required.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Experience working with children and families from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome children and families warmly each day while fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and daily classroom activities.
- Engage children in learning through play, music, art, storytelling, literacy, technology, and outdoor exploration.
- Encourage children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development through meaningful interactions.
- Assist children with classroom routines, learning activities, and individualized support as needed.
- Help maintain a positive classroom culture that promotes respect, independence, confidence, and curiosity.
- Observe and communicate children's progress, strengths, and individual needs with the Lead Teacher.
- Assist in lesson preparation and classroom organization.
- Support children's health, safety, and personal hygiene needs in accordance with licensing standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment, including sanitizing materials, cleaning tables, cots, chairs, and meal areas.
- Build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with colleagues to support school-wide initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall success of the program.

Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Lift up to 40 pounds multiple times throughout the day.
- Frequently bend, kneel, reach, sit on the floor, and actively engage with young children.
- Perform duties related to the physical care and supervision of children.
- Work outdoors daily with children except during hazardous or extreme weather conditions.
- Occasionally travel between CommuniKids locations as needed.
- Attend occasional evening meetings, trainings, or school events.

Pay: $48,736.00 - $51,576.00 per year
