Commercial Carpenter
About the Role
We're hiring an experienced Commercial Carpenter to join our team and contribute to a steady pipeline of commercial projects. You'll work on everything from rough framing through finish carpentry, helping deliver high-quality builds for office, retail, healthcare, educational, and light industrial clients. What You'll Do
- Perform rough and finish carpentry on commercial job sites, including metal stud framing, wood framing, blocking, and backing
- Hang and finish drywall; install acoustical ceilings, doors, frames, and hardware
- Install millwork, casework, cabinetry, trim, paneling, and architectural finishes
- Build and set forms for concrete work as needed
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and submittals to execute work to spec
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Use scissor lifts, boom lifts, and forklifts when needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in line with OSHA standards
- Coordinate with foremen, project managers, and other trades to keep projects on schedule
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of commercial carpentry experience (rough, finish, or both)
- Solid ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications
- Proficiency with carpentry hand and power tools (saws, nail guns, routers, lasers, levels, etc.)
- Experience with metal stud framing and commercial drywall systems
- Familiarity with door hardware, casework installation, and finish trim work
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices; OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
- Reliable transportation and the ability to report to job sites on time
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on lifts and ladders, and stand or move throughout the day
- Lift certifications (scissor/boom/forklift) a plus but not required
Nice to Have
- Experience with Bluebeam or other plan markup software
- Background in tenant fit-outs, ground-up commercial, or healthcare/education builds
- Welding or light metal fabrication skills
Note: This position does not involve roofing work.
