Join our team as an Extrusion Technician, where you’ll learn and perform all aspects of plastic extrusion under the guidance of a Cell Leader. You’ll be responsible for setting up and operating extrusion lines to produce high-quality plastic cylinders and profiles that meet customer specifications for quality, quantity, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate extrusion lines using thermoplastic materials.
- Load raw materials (up to 55 lbs), mix colors, and monitor material quality.
- Assemble and install tooling (dies, pins, sleeves, etc.) using hand tools.
- Adjust machine settings, including temperature, speed, and pressure.
- Inspect parts visually and with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
- Package finished parts and build skids for shipping.
- Communicate job status across shifts and follow quality inspection protocols.
- Operate granulators and assist in training new team members.
- Learn to operate tow motors (forklifts).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
- Ability to lift 55 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Willingness to learn and follow safety and quality procedures.
- Prior experience in extrusion or plastics manufacturing is a plus.
