Reports To: Owner
About Us
Vatter Construction is a design-build remodeling company specializing in high-end, full-scale interior and exterior remodels across Lancaster and surrounding areas. Our goal is to change the way each family we work for does life together.
About the Role
We're looking for an Operations Manager to be the connective tissue of our company — the person who binds our office and our field together. This is a hybrid role: part production manager overseeing every active job in production, part internal operations lead overseeing design, preconstruction, and how sales pipeline flows into active work.
You won't manage HR, but you will manage flow — making sure nothing falls through the cracks between the moment a project enters design and the day it's finished in the field. You'll oversee our design and pre-construction process, and you'll have visibility into what's coming down the pipeline before it ever hits a job site.
This position/person should be familiar with Traction/ EOS and a true integrator— someone who thrives on systems, follow-through, and keeping a growing company aligned and running smoothly, while the owner focuses on vision and growth. If you know what that means, you'll understand exactly what we're looking for.
You'll report directly to the owner.
What You'll Do
- Oversee all active construction projects in production, ensuring clear communication between the office and the field
- Manage the preconstruction process from design intake through project handoff to production
- Oversee design and pre-construction workflow
- Maintain visibility into the sales pipeline and help translate incoming work into a realistic production schedule
- Serve as the central point of accountability connecting sales, design, preconstruction, and field operations
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks before they become problems
- Bring structure and systems to a growing company without slowing down the work
What We're Looking For
- Experience in construction operations, project management, or a similar integrator-style role
- A natural systems-thinker who brings order and follow-through to a fast-moving environment
- Someone who leads with the same core values and belief system as ownership — even if your working style and personality are different
- Comfort operating with a high degree of flexibility; your week will look different depending on what's active in the pipeline
- Strong communication skills — you'll be the translator between office, field, and ownership
- Interest in long-term growth with the company.
Schedule
This role is highly flexible by design. Your time will shift between office and field depending on what's running — more field time when jobs are active, more office time during design and preconstruction pushes
