JOB SUMMARY: We are looking for an energetic person with a passion for food and beverages, who will support banquet staff and coordinate banquet functions to ensure that the events in the hotel meet guest satisfaction. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for hospitality and creating exceptional and memorable experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and
- professional manner
- Greet all banquet function guests professionally and sincerely
- Set up and replenish all buffets, food and coffee stations
- Provide prompt, efficient, and gracious customer service to banquet function guests, including serving cocktails during the prescribed reception hours, handling cash bar transactions, serving all food and beverages during functions, and assisting in busing tables as service requires
- Set up and break down the rooms including; setting and decorating tables, folding napkins, preparing condiments, filling salt, pepper, and sugar containers, and breaking down and storing tables and chairs
- Be familiar with the prospectus sheet and menu for each banquet function, prior to the start of service
- Follow all specified procedures and correctly handle all cash and credit transactions
- Satisfactorily perform all side duties as directed
- Always maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas in accordance with all state regulations and company policy, including proper handling of all relevant equipment
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and long hours as needed
- Perform additional tasks deemed necessary by management
JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION LEVEL: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. English fluency required. Minimum three years' experience with banquets experience required in the hospitality industry preferred. Must be familiar with different styles of service, including buffet and gourmet meals, various dishes and wines, and proper lifting techniques. Hotel experience preferred. Must have a valid Food Handlers Card and a Responsible Beverage Server Certificate.
SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively. High quality standards of service. Able to maintain a professional and courteous environment with guests and other members of staff. Strong English communication skills. Able to work within a team well and with occasional minimal supervision.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and pushing/pulling. Frequent lifting/carrying up to 75 lbs. and occasional lifting carrying of up to 100 lbs.
