Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled CT Technologist to join our dynamic medical imaging team. In this vital role, you will operate computed tomography (CT) scanners to produce detailed cross-sectional images of patients’ internal structures, supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for CT procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the scan.
- Operate CT imaging equipment efficiently to capture high-resolution images for diagnostic purposes.
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers to determine appropriate imaging protocols based on clinical indications.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and radiation safety standards to protect patients and staff.
- Assist with additional medical imaging procedures such as nuclear medicine, PET scans, mammography, DEXA scans, sonography, X-ray, and physiology assessments as needed.
- Monitor patient condition during procedures, respond promptly to any adverse reactions or emergencies, including emergency room situations or Level I trauma center protocols.
- Document all procedures accurately in medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
Requirements
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or equivalent credential with specialized training in CT imaging.
- Proven experience operating CT scanners in a clinical setting; experience with Level II trauma centers or emergency rooms is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles essential for accurate image acquisition and interpretation.
- Familiarity with advanced imaging modalities such as PET scans, mammography, DEXA scans, nuclear medicine, ultrasound (sonography), and X-ray procedures.
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and infection control practices within a healthcare environment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in urgent care or emergency medicine scenarios while maintaining attention to detail.
