Childcare Supervisor & Childcare Teacher – 2 Full-Time Positions

Dakota Kids Academy is looking for two dependable, caring, and energetic individuals to join our team! We are currently hiring for:
- Childcare Supervisor/Lead Teacher
- Childcare Teacher
Both positions are expected to begin in late August, with the possibility of an earlier start date.
We are a small, play-based childcare center focused on helping children become capable, confident, and independent through meaningful play, everyday life skills, and loving relationships. We are looking for teachers who genuinely enjoy children, work well as part of a team, and are willing to actively engage—not simply supervise from the sidelines.
Childcare Supervisor/Lead Teacher
This position is ideal for an experienced childcare professional who is ready to take on additional leadership responsibilities while remaining actively involved in the classroom.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting and guiding classroom teachers
- Helping maintain licensing, safety, and classroom standards
- Assisting with daily schedules, activities, and staff communication
- Providing positive guidance and managing challenging behaviors appropriately
- Communicating professionally with families
- Stepping into classrooms and helping wherever needed
- Helping create a calm, organized, and supportive environment
- Taking initiative and helping the day run smoothly
Previous childcare experience is required. Applicants must meet—or be able to meet—North Dakota licensing qualifications for a childcare supervisor. Leadership or lead-teacher experience is strongly preferred.
Childcare Teacher
Responsibilities include:
- Providing attentive, nurturing care
- Actively playing and interacting with children
- Leading developmentally appropriate activities
- Supporting meals, diapering, toileting, rest time, and transitions
- Maintaining a clean and organized classroom
- Using positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior strategies
- Communicating with families and coworkers
- Following all safety, licensing, and center policies
Childcare experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who is dependable, patient, motivated, and excited to learn.
All applicants must:
- Be reliable and consistently arrive on time
- Work well with children and coworkers
- Be comfortable caring for children in a busy, active environment
- Be willing to clean, organize, and help throughout the center
- Communicate respectfully and professionally
- Pass all required background checks
- Complete required childcare training and certifications
- Be able to get down on the floor, lift children, and remain active throughout the day
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday
Anticipated start date: Late August, possibly sooner
Pay: Based on position, education, experience, and qualifications
Location: Dakota Kids Academy in Fargo, North Dakota
