We are seeking an Auto Body Estimator to join our fast-paced automotive repair team. In this vital role, you will assess vehicle damage, prepare accurate repair estimates, and coordinate with customers, insurance companies, and technicians to ensure smooth and efficient service. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent of repairs needed, including auto body damage, mechanical issues, and structural integrity.
- Prepare detailed, accurate repair estimates using industry-standard estimating software, ensuring all necessary repairs such as auto body repair, alignments, suspension work, brake repairs, and transmission servicing are included.
- Communicate clearly with customers to explain repair procedures, costs, and timelines while providing exceptional customer service throughout the process.
- Collaborate with insurance adjusters to facilitate claims processing and ensure estimates align with insurance requirements.
- Coordinate with technicians and shop staff to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of work such as oil changes, tire services, shocks & struts replacement, air brake systems, diesel engine repairs, and other automotive diagnostics.
- Upsell additional services like vehicle maintenance or enhancements that benefit the customer’s vehicle performance and safety.
- Maintain detailed records of all estimates, repair orders, parts used, and customer interactions for transparency and accountability.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an auto body estimator or in a similar role within a dealership or automotive service environment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes including auto estimating, collision repair procedures, and mechanical diagnostics.
- Familiarity with dealership operations, auto service management systems, and service writing software.
- Mechanical knowledge related to transmissions, oil changes, alignment services, suspension systems, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, brake repair, air brake systems, diesel engines, and automotive diagnostics.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and professionally.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately when required.
- Sales-oriented mindset with experience in upselling additional services or vehicle sales is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license; ASE certifications or equivalent automotive certifications are preferred but not mandatory. Join our team where your expertise will make a difference! Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
