Holmdel Veterinary Clinic is an independently owned doctor practice currently seeking an experienced veterinary technician. The desired candidate will be friendly and motivated, will have excellent customer service skills, and will be well versed in general practice policies and procedures as they relate to small animal medicine. As well as passionate about animals and medicine and possess an exceptional work ethic.
A minimum of 5 years prior experience as a veterinary technician is required to be considered for the available opening. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Holmdel Veterinary Clinic is an exclusively fast growing small animal practice that specializes in providing high quality, compassionate and convenient care for our patients. As a full service practice, we provide wellness and sick examinations, immunizations, surgery and dentistry, digital radiography, and in house laboratory and pharmacy services. We recognize the importance of the relationships between humans and animals and view our clients and patients as extended family.
Position Requirements
- Experienced and competent in veterinary technician skills
- Strong in Medical terminology knowledge required
- Rooming patient/client for routine and non routine examination, collecting pertinent medical information
- Client education
- Laboratory procedures, venipuncture, IV catheter placement
- Surgical preparation and monitoring
- Hospitalized patient care
- Idexx laboratory protocols and equipment
- Strong knowledge of vaccines and protocols
- Pharmacy products, knowledge of all available HW and F/T medications.
- Digital radiology
- Proper restraint techniques as well as treatment protocols for patients
- Anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance
- Dental prophylaxis experience is a plus
- Ability to relate with customers in a friendly and welcoming manner as well as field a variety of medical questions and requests from clients
- Ability to be a team player, work well with others, and maintain a professional relationship with coworkers
- Exceptional organizational skills, possess the ability to multi task, and perform assignments efficiently under pressure
- Avimark knowledge a plus
