Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining quality levels at or above customer requirements on all parts and material produced, including outside service work being performed on any parts (anodizing, paint, plating, etc.)
Essential Job Functions:
Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, or work for conformance to specifications.
Inspect pans for first piece or final inspection and fill out necessary reports.
Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
Record inspection or test data.
Maintain calibration log on inspection equipment.
Collect organize, file and distribute statistical information on all jobs.
Notify supervisors or set-up of production quality problems.
Reject products, materials or equipment not meeting specifications.
Clean and maintain measuring instruments or test equipment.
Check arriving materials to ensure that it matches purchase orders, and meets quality standards.
Implement quality standards and procedures.
Implement training for all new production personnel. Training to be documented in a training log for each employee. Training may include material handling, use of measurement tools, print reading, data collection for SPC and procedures for individual job quality. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Must have knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Physical Qualifications if Needed: Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, be able to lift up to 50 lbs., and able to work on a moderate to loud production floor. Need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment, subject to numerous schedule and priority changes with short notice.
Education if Needed: High school diploma or equivalent with previous work-related skills
Safety and Environment Requirements: Required to wear safety shoes and glasses. Ear Plugs are optional. Ability to work in hot/cold environment.
Training Required if Needed: On the job training, basic safety training
