About us
Meter Engineers was founded in 1976 by Bill Young. For the last 50 years, the Meter Engineers team has been serving the global petroleum measurement industry from our two locations in Kechi, Kansas and Baytown, Texas. Meter Engineers in known as "Your one stop prover shop!". Our business is manufacturing, servicing and supporting meter provers used in liquid hydrocarbon custody transfer. We also offer our own line of hydrocarbon analyzers and samplers.
Brad Young, our second-generation owner, grew up calibrating provers in the field and saw a number of design issues with room for improvement. Brad addressed these problems and was issued three patents for his innovative designs for the MagnaProve® small volume prover, sphere detector switches and unicast seamless prover spheres. Today, we are the only company in the world that manufacturers every variety of meter prover (unidirectional, bidirectional, piston, and tank). Meter Engineers also focuses on aftermarket support by providing all of the support products and services necessary to keep our customers operations running.
Meter Engineers products are engineered to meet unique requirements of the demanding environments found in fluid handling and oil and gas operations.
