WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Program Accountant I provides high level accounting support to programs of the Opportunity Council, including working with agency fiscal and program directors and fiscal staff to develop and maintain reporting systems for planning purposes and for monitoring of spending progress.
Maintains and inputs program budgets in Intacct to facilitate programmatic and agency wide reporting. Calculates and provides financial information to facilitate contract renewals and applications. Assists in the review of allowable charges to grants, the preparation of monthly billings and grant closeouts. Works on special projects for developing systems in new areas of the agency undertaking and/or in new approaches to existing operations.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday 8AM to 5PM
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops, maintains, and provides regularly scheduled and on demand reports in support of program managers and directors.

Prepares monthly billing reports for funding sources along with analyzing grant spending progress and accounts receivable.

Maintains and inputs program budgets in Intacct to facilitate programmatic and agency wide reporting.

Under the direction of program directors, develops internal systems to provide statistical information to management necessary for planning.

Coordinates accurate coding of contract expenses with agency fiscal and program staff.

Assists program directors with contract renewal and grant application budgets.

Provides support in preparation of and during program reviews.

Performs grant closeout at end of grant period, including but not limited to final billings, reporting and GL adjustments.

Reviews labor and accounts payable distribution reports to ensure the proper coding of expenses to grants and contracts.

Works on special projects for developing systems in new areas of agency undertaking or in new approaches to existing operations.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.

Nonprofit experience preferred

If hiring for a bilingual position. Must be able to speak, read, and write with proficiency and fluency in the required language.
