Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part time School Nurse (RN required) to join our AFA team. The School Nurse will be responsible for providing healthcare services to students and staff, promoting health education, and ensuring a safe and healthy school environment.
This position is weekdays from 7am until 4pm. Morning hours are required as we need to properly care for boarding students before the school day begins.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct healthcare services to students
- Assess and treat injuries and illnesses within the school setting
- Administer medications and maintain accurate medical records
- Develop and implement individual healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions
- Educate students and staff on health-related topics
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to promote student well-being
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic life support as needed
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license
- Experience in emergency medicine or outpatient care preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and common illnesses
- Familiarity with maintaining medical records accurately
- Previous experience in a hospital setting or trauma center (Level I or Level II) is a plus
