Job Description:
Alutiiq Logistics & Maintenance Services, LLC (ALMS) has an exciting opportunity for a Machinery Maintenance Mechanic - Generators at Naval Air Station in Pensacola, FL. The Generator Mechanic ensures the proper function of assigned machinery types through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repair.
- Service and troubleshoot diesel engines, generators, transfer switches, lighting carts, uninterrupted power supplies and controls.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance generators, transfer switches, lighting carts, uninterrupted power supplies and controls.
- Monitor periodically to ensure proper functioning and performance.
- Load test batteries, check and repair charging systems.
- Maintain Generator records with accurate documentation of service and repairs
- Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
- Make recommendations to supervisor as necessary on the performance of all equipment.
- Respond to electrical and equipment emergencies at any time.
- Ensure that safe working conditions are being maintained in all areas.
- Checks surrounding area for good appearance, cleanliness, and accessibility
- Identifies and reports to Supervisor any discrepancies
- Completes Work Orders and time sheets daily and accurately.
- Initiates material requisitions to order parts/materials needed for repairs.
- Work also involves other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of commercial/industrial generator experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of generators, diesel and gaseous engines, controls, and systems, transfer switches and switch gear.
- Must be able to troubleshoot & repair AC and DC controls and equipment such as engine controllers, Automatic Voltage Regulators, battery chargers, block heaters, automatic transfer switches and switchgear.
- Must have advanced understanding of various generator components and their functions, including current transformers, relays, engine control modules, exhaust control technologies, voltage regulation.
Pay rate: $44.72 per hour
