Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication administration in medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to assess health status
- Support individuals with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, or working with those with developmental disabilities
- Maintain a safe environment by following infection control procedures and adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Document medical information precisely using medical terminology and ensure compliance with healthcare standards
- Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans and report any changes in condition promptly
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and procedures such as catheter care or tube feeding
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is advantageous
- Certification as a Medication Technician or willingness to obtain certification upon hire
- Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities and compassion for those with disabilities or chronic conditions
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
