Spring River Rehabilitation & Care Center is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and team-oriented Dietary Aide to join our Food & Nutrition Services team. In this role, you will play an important part in enhancing the health, comfort, and overall dining experience of our residents by assisting with meal preparation, food service, and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
As a Dietary Aide, you will work closely with the Dietary Manager, Registered Dietitian, and interdisciplinary care team to ensure residents receive nutritious meals that meet physician orders, therapeutic diets, and individual preferences while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and customer service.
Prepare and portion meals, snacks, beverages, and nutritional supplements according to physician orders, therapeutic diets, and standardized recipes
Serve meals and beverages to residents in a courteous, timely, and professional manner
Assist residents during meal service as needed while promoting dignity, independence, and resident satisfaction
Set up, clean, and sanitize dining rooms, serving areas, kitchen equipment, and food preparation areas
Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and HACCP guidelines to ensure compliance with CMS, state, and local regulations
Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using approved sanitation procedures
Maintain cleanliness of refrigerators, freezers, storage areas, and food preparation equipment
Assist with receiving, stocking, rotating, and organizing food and dietary supplies using proper inventory control methods
Report equipment malfunctions, food shortages, and safety concerns to the Dietary Manager promptly
Follow resident meal preferences, allergies, dietary restrictions, and special nutritional requirements
Maintain accurate documentation related to meal service, temperatures, sanitation logs, and dietary records as required
Provide exceptional customer service to residents, families, visitors, and team members
Work collaboratively with nursing and interdisciplinary departments to support resident nutritional needs
Assist with special events, holiday meals, and facility celebrations as assigned
Adhere to all facility policies, HIPAA requirements, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous dietary, food service, restaurant, healthcare, or long-term care experience preferred but not required
Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain if required)
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and safe food handling practices preferred
Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and therapeutic diet instructions
