Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining CMM equipment to ensure precise measurement and quality control of manufactured parts. Your expertise in mechanical blueprint interpretation, precision measurement instruments, and industrial equipment troubleshooting will be essential in verifying component dimensions against technical specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality production processes by ensuring dimensional accuracy and adherence to strict quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up, calibrate, and operate CMM machines to inspect manufactured parts and assemblies with high precision.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and production documents to determine measurement requirements.
- Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming to assist in programming CMM operations.
- Perform dimensional measurements using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
- Troubleshoot industrial equipment issues related to CMM operation and coordinate repairs or adjustments as needed.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and logs for quality documentation purposes.
- Collaborate with machining, fabrication, and assembly teams to ensure parts meet all quality specifications and tolerances.
- Follow safety standards in production environments, ensuring safe operation of all machinery and tools.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CMM machines in a manufacturing or factory setting.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC machining processes.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.
- Hands-on experience with blueprint reading, shop math, fabrication techniques, and materials handling.
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and the use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and perform precise dimensional measurements using GD&T principles.
- Prior experience working with CAD software, CAM programming, or related manufacturing tools is highly desirable.
