Male DSP / Caregiver – Community Support – Part-Time
Job description
Exceptional Care Group is seeking a dependable male DSP/caregiver for a one-on-one assignment supporting an adult male in the community.
This is a great fit for someone with experience as a DSP, behavioral health technician, caregiver, CNA, or working with adults with developmental disabilities or seizure disorders.
The client is approximately 240 lbs. and has epilepsy with a risk of falling during seizure activity, so applicants must be physically capable of providing close safety supervision and responding appropriately if a seizure occurs.
Responsibilities include:
- One-on-one companionship and social interaction
- Community outings and activities
- Transportation to and from activities
- Medication reminders/prompting
- Close supervision for seizure and fall safety
- Remaining within close proximity when needed for safety
- Providing calm, dependable support while promoting independence
Ideal candidate:
- Male caregiver/DSP preferred based on client/family request
- DSP or similar direct-care experience strongly preferred
- Experience with epilepsy/seizure safety is a plus
- Physically capable of safely assisting a larger adult if needed
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- Dependable, patient, personable, and comfortable with community outings
Location: Belmar, NJ
Schedule: Part-time / care blocks; schedule to be discussed
Pay: $22–$25 per hour, depending on experience
Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
