Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA)/Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in Ophthalmology and Medical Aesthetics to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide specific treatments in ophthalmology, as well as advanced aesthetic treatments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in performing ophthalmic and medical aesthetic procedures.
Duties
- Administer aesthetic procedures such as dermabrasion, and laser treatments (wrinkle reduction, permanent hair removal) IPL treatments and ultrasound hair regrowth treatments.
- Conduct botulinum toxin treatments for cosmetic and therapeutic indications, ensuring proper injection techniques and patient safety.
- Manage pre- and post-procedure patient education, addressing concerns related to recovery, side effects, and ongoing care.
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems for accurate documentation of treatments, diagnoses, and follow-up plans.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and DEA guidelines when prescribing medications or administering injections.
- Perform specific eye procedures as indicated and assist in Operating Room to improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license with certification in ophthalmic or aesthetic medicine preferred; relevant certifications in botulinum toxin treatment are advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in medical aesthetics procedures including laser therapies, and skin rejuvenation techniques.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology pertinent to ophthalmology and dermatology practices.
- Familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding for diagnoses is required for accurate documentation.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients on treatment options and safety protocols effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining high standards of patient confidentiality and safety.
