Position Overview: Our professional design consulting firm in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor / Party Chief to join our team. The successful candidate will bring both field and office expertise, with proficiency in GPS and robotic survey equipment, and will be able to manage a wide range of surveying responsibilities. This role requires the ability to work independently and effectively while supporting project teams and clients with high-quality survey data and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform field surveys using GPS and robotic equipment to collect accurate topographical and control data.
Compile and complete boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, and topographical surveys.
Prepare construction staking notes for field crews on a daily basis.
Manage and coordinate field activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Utilize Civil3D (preferred) and other electronic design tools to process survey data and prepare drawings.
Ensure compliance with project requirements, regulations, and professional standards.
Support engineers, planners, and project managers with survey data and technical expertise.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 7 years of professional land surveying experience in both office and field environments.
Strong knowledge of surveying principles, methods, and practices.
Proficiency with GPS and robotic survey equipment.
Demonstrated ability to independently compile boundary, ALTA, and topographical surveys.
Strong electronic design and drafting skills; Civil3D experience preferred.
PLS in Tennessee and/or Georgia is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
