Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our busy and growing retina practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical care to patients, assisting in diagnostic evaluations, and collaborating with physicians to develop effective treatment plans. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and assessments of patients
- Perform pre-operative evaluations as needed
- Administer intravitreal and Sub-Tenon's injections and assist with various medical procedures, including retinal lasers and YAG capsulotomies
- Imiplement infection control protocols to ensure patient safety
- Provide airway management as necessary in the very rare emergency situation
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medical coding for billing purposes
- Participate in clinical research as needed
- Phlebotomize patients for laboratory testing when required
- Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention
Experience:
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in a clinical setting as a Physician Assistant or similar role
- Strong skills in diagnostic evaluation and patient assessment
- Familiarity with infection control practices and protocols
- Experience administering injections and performing triage
- Knowledge of medical coding practices is preferred
- Ability to manage airway effectively during emergencies
