Talcott Center for Child Development is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) to join our multidisciplinary outpatient team. About Talcott Center for Child Development
Talcott Center for Child Development is a leading pediatric therapy practice serving children and families throughout the Greater Hartford area. Our team provides comprehensive, evidence-based services in a collaborative outpatient setting, helping children achieve greater independence, confidence, and success in their daily activities.
Position Summary
The Occupational Therapist will evaluate and treat children with a variety of developmental, sensory, motor, behavioral, and functional challenges. The ideal candidate will have experience working with pediatric populations and a strong commitment to individualized, family-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for pediatric patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on each child's needs and goals.
- Provide evidence-based occupational therapy services to improve fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, self-care, emotional regulation, and functional living skills.
- Educate and collaborate with parents and caregivers to support progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, psychologists, educators, physicians, and other professionals involved in patient care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Stay current with best practices and continuing education in pediatric occupational therapy.
Qualifications
Required:
- Master's or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current Connecticut Occupational Therapy License or eligibility for licensure.
- Current NBCOT certification.
- Experience working with pediatric patients.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in an outpatient pediatric setting.
- Experience with sensory integration, emotional regulation, executive functioning, developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and fine motor skill development.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
