CNC Setup Machinist / All-Around Shop Technician

B&P Machine LLC is a very small, very busy machine shop specializing in busbar fabrication. We have a steady workload and are looking for an experienced, dependable individual who wants to work and become an important part of our shop.
We are looking for an all-around CNC Setup Machinist who can set up and operate CNC milling machines, troubleshoot problems, and help other employees with setups and machine operation.
This is not a position where you will only run a CNC machine. We are a small shop, and everyone helps wherever needed to keep production moving.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines
- Help other employees with CNC setups and operation
- Teach and assist less-experienced operators
- Troubleshoot machining and setup problems
- Build and improve fixtures for production work
- Set tooling, offsets, workholding, stops, and fixtures
- Read prints and work to required tolerances
- Inspect parts and make necessary adjustments
- Cut raw material
- Score and strip insulation from laminated copper busbar
- Deburr and clean parts
- Assist with fabrication and other production operations
- Help wherever needed to keep jobs moving through the shop
What We’re Looking For
We want someone who is hands-on, dependable, and likes to stay busy.
The ideal person can set up a CNC job, operate the machine, solve problems, help another employee with a setup, and then jump in on another shop operation when needed.
You should be comfortable working in a small, fast-paced production shop where everyone works together.
Qualifications
- CNC milling setup and operating experience required
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring equipment
- Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills
- Fixture-building and workholding experience is a plus
- Experience helping or training other CNC operators is a plus
- ProTRAK/TRAK experience is a plus
- Must be dependable and willing to work as part of a small team
Hours
40–60 hours per week available.
We are looking for someone who is interested in overtime and longer hours when production requires it.
Pay
Starting at $25.00 per hour, with higher pay based on experience and ability.
