Medical company in Rome, NY is seeking a Billing & Account Coordinator to join their team. Responsibilities include the following:
- Process and track prescriptions, Certificates of Medical Necessity (CMNs), prior authorizations, and related documentation to ensure timely completion.
- Maintain accurate documentation and logs for prescriptions, CMNs, prior authorizations, and other required records.
- Manage discharge orders from receipt through completion, ensuring all documentation and requirements are met.
- Contact discharge patients regarding payment options, account balances, and enrollment in automatic payment programs.
- Perform prior authorization follow-up activities and communicate status updates as needed.
- Remain current on payer medical policies, coverage guidelines, and qualification requirements.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR), healthcare information systems, payer portals, and other technology platforms to support daily operations.
- Use insurance web portals to verify eligibility, review claims, retrieve documentation, and obtain payer information.
- Answer a high volume of inbound calls while providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Effectively manage multiple priorities while meeting department productivity and turnaround expectations.
- Research issues, document findings, recommend solutions, and communicate outcomes to leadership.
- Collaborate with leadership and team members to improve processes, resolve issues, and support departmental goals.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, HIPAA requirements, and all applicable regulatory standards.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and company information.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance coverage guidelines, and payer documentation requirements.
- Strong computer proficiency with the ability to navigate multiple systems, applications, and web-based portals simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal, written, customer service, and phone communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.

Work Hours
- Monday through Friday 8:30-5:00 pm
- One Saturday per month, 9:00-1:00 pm
