The Asphalt Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of an asphalt production facility. This role involves monitoring plant systems, adjusting controls, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring production meets quality specifications and environmental standards.

Operate and monitor asphalt plant equipment, including burners, conveyors, silos, and control systems

Adjust plant settings to maintain proper material mix, temperature, and output levels

Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plant equipment

Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues to minimize downtime

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies

Coordinate with truck drivers, quality control personnel, and supervisors to ensure timely production and delivery

Maintain accurate production logs, reports, and documentation

Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and notify management of shortages

Keep plant and surrounding work area clean and organized

Previous experience operating an asphalt plant or similar industrial equipment preferred

Knowledge of asphalt production processes and materials is a plus

Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues

Basic computer skills for operating control systems and logging data
