Summary: The Ministry Coordinator (MC) serves a vital role in advancing the mission of Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF®) by supporting, strengthening, and expanding local ministry efforts that reach children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Working closely with the Local Director (LD) and being led by prayer in every step of ministry, the MC provides organizational leadership within ministry clubs, volunteer training and development, and ministry support across key CEF programs including Good News Clubs, 5-Day Clubs, Party Clubs, and Christian Youth In Action® (CYIA™). This is a hybrid ministry position with approximately 50% administrative/coordination responsibilities and 50% field ministry engagement.
Core Responsibilities
Ministry Coordination & Operations
- Oversee organization and workflow of clubs and outreach ministries
- Ensure alignment with CEF standards and policies
- Maintain accurate ministry records and statistics
- Assist in launching new ministry locations
Volunteer Training, Leadership Development, & Care
- Onboard, and support volunteer teams
- Process applications, background checks, and references
- Ensure training completion (Quick Start, etc.)
- Plan and lead annual Fall children’s ministry conference
- Provide ongoing communication and encouragement
Field Ministry Support
- Teach or assist in clubs as needed
- Visit and support ministry sites as needed
- Assist with CYIA initiatives as directed
- Participate in state training camp when needed
Administration, Representation, & Stewardship
- Assist with budgeting process
- Attend meetings and represent CEF as requested
- Assist with other ministry directives as assigned by the Local Director
Additional Considerations
Work Schedule Expectations
- Frequent weekday afternoons (school-based ministry)
- Occasional evenings and weekends and overnight travel
- Regular travel within the counties we serve
- Some administrative work may be completed remotely
Required Qualifications
- Clear Christian testimony and alignment with CEF mission
- Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills
- Ability to lead and develop volunteers
- Must be willing to work across denominational lines
- Complete Children’s Ministries Institute® (CMI®) within 18 months
- Ability to pass background checks and onboarding process
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Children’s ministry and/or teaching experience
- Familiarity with CEF ministries
- Event and/or training planning experience
