Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform accurate diagnoses.
- Manage a broad scope of clinical procedures such as suturing, IV infusions, catheterizations, and administering injections with confidence and adherence to sterile techniques.
- Provide specialized treatments including botulinum toxin therapy, dermal fillers, esthetic laser treatments, and spinal taps to enhance patient outcomes.
- Coordinate complex care plans involving acute pain management, hospice & palliative medicine, behavioral health interventions, and geriatrics.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for precise documentation of patient encounters and medical records while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and utilization review to optimize patient care pathways.
- Engage in telehealth consultations to expand access to care for remote or underserved populations.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations using sonography or laboratory testing; interpret ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for accurate billing and recordkeeping.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects aimed at advancing healthcare standards.
- Provide education on health coaching topics such as nutrition, family planning, memory care, and working with people with disabilities or developmental disabilities.
- Support patients across the lifespan—from neonatal ventilator management to toddler care and adult chronic disease management—delivering compassionate care tailored to individual needs.
Qualifications
- Valid Family Nurse Practitioner license with current certification from an accredited program.
- Proven experience in diverse clinical settings such as emergency medicine, hospital medicine, ICU or trauma centers (Level I or II trauma experience preferred).
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or similar platforms; familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding standards is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience performing procedures like suturing, venipuncture (phlebotomy), catheterization, sterile processing techniques, and airway management.
- Knowledge of acute care practices including ventilator management, dialysis procedures, gastroscopy (gastric lavage), spinal taps, and infection control protocols.
- Strong understanding of pharmacology related to psychopharmacology and pain management; experience administering injections and IV therapy is essential.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as urgent care clinics or emergency rooms; triage skills are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients on complex health topics while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
- Experience working with diverse populations including children (pediatrics), seniors (geriatrics), hospice & palliative patients or those with developmental disabilities. Pay: $70.00 - $105.00 per hour
