Position Summary
Dominion Church is seeking a passionate, experienced, and ministry-minded Gospel Music Instructor & Youth Vocal Coach to develop and mentor young singers ages 11–17. This part-time ministry position is ideal for someone who loves working with youth, has a heart for worship, and is committed to helping the next generation grow in their vocal ability, confidence, and stage presence while glorifying God through music.
The ideal candidate will provide vocal instruction, coach students in gospel music performance, and prepare them to minister with excellence during church services, concerts, and special events.
Responsibilities
- Teach gospel music to students ages 11–17 through weekly in-person training sessions.
- Provide vocal coaching to improve pitch, tone, breath control, diction, harmony, vocal range, and overall vocal technique.
- Train students on proper vocal health and techniques to strengthen and protect their voices.
- Teach stage presence, microphone technique, confidence, audience engagement, movement, and performance etiquette.
- Lead rehearsals and prepare students for worship services, youth services, concerts, and special church events.
- Observe students during worship services and provide feedback to help them apply the skills learned during training.
- Encourage spiritual growth by incorporating biblical principles, worship, and Christian values into music instruction.
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and disciplined learning environment.
- Evaluate students' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
- Collaborate with church leadership and the worship ministry to support youth music initiatives.
- Support the vision and mission of Dominion Church through music ministry.
Qualifications
- Must be an active and consistent member of Dominion Church through regular attendance and participation.
- Strong background in gospel music, vocal performance, choir directing, or music education.
- Experience teaching or coaching youth singers is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of vocal techniques, harmony, and performance preparation.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor young people.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, organized, trustworthy, and punctual.
- Must have reliable transportation to ensure consistent attendance for rehearsals, worship services, and church events.
Schedule & Commitment
- Lead weekly in-person vocal training sessions for students ages 11–17. The day and time will be determined based on ministry and participant availability.
- Attend at least one Sunday worship service each week to observe students as they minister and evaluate how they are implementing the vocal techniques, stage presence, and performance skills taught during training.
- Be available to prepare students for youth services, worship services, concerts, and special church events as needed.
- Maintain a positive attitude while upholding the values and standards of Dominion Church.
