Job DescriptionHHL Advisors Group is seeking a high-caliber, bilingual Senior Tax Manager to join our New York City team. This role is designed for a strategic leader who possesses a deep technical understanding of U.S. tax law and a passion for client advocacy. As a Senior Manager, you will have significant autonomy, overseeing complex engagements and serving as a technical mentor to the firm.Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Review & Advisory: Lead the review of complex federal and state returns for Corporations (C & S), Partnerships, and High-Net-Worth individuals. Drive year-round tax planning and entity structuring strategies.
- Technical Leadership: Conduct advanced tax research and provide definitive guidance on international, multi-state, and complex regulatory issues.
- Team Development: Directly supervise and mentor mid-level staff. You will be responsible for the final technical accuracy of workpapers and the professional growth of your team.
- Client Management: Serve as the primary consultant for a portfolio of key accounts, managing long-term relationships and high-level expectations.
- Representation: Lead IRS and state tax audits and represent clients in complex tax controversies.
Qualifications
- Active CPA License (REQUIRED).
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting firm.
- Language: Native or professional fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (Written & Verbal).
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation.
- Skills: Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage high-stakes deadlines.
