Director of Field OperationsPosition Summary
NCUI is seeking a highly organized, process-driven, and field-focused Director of Field Operations (DFO) to lead and oversee all aspects of daily field execution. The DFO is responsible for everything that happens on the jobsite between the time crews leave the yard and the time they return, ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, profitably, and to company quality standards.
This role serves as the critical link between Operations, Scheduling, Estimating, Sales, and Field Production. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, develops accountability within teams, and continuously improves operational systems and field performance.
Key Responsibilities Field Leadership & Crew Readiness
- Lead daily morning crew briefings to review job scope, site conditions, equipment requirements, materials, safety concerns, and production expectations.
- Ensure all crews are fully prepared before departing for job sites.
- Identify and resolve potential issues before they become field emergencies.
- Maintain clear communication between field personnel and office staff throughout the day.
Quality Control & Production Oversight
- Conduct regular field visits to verify workmanship and adherence to company standards.
- Monitor production efficiency and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Proactively address execution issues before they result in customer complaints or rework.
- Hold crews accountable for quality, productivity, and professionalism.
Safety Management
- Enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct safety observations and field audits.
- Ensure crews have the proper equipment, training, and resources to perform work safely.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Operational Feedback & Continuous Improvement
- Provide ongoing feedback to Scheduling and Estimating regarding actual field conditions, labor requirements, production rates, and job performance.
- Help improve estimating accuracy and scheduling efficiency through real-world field data.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
Quality Systems Development
- Lead the creation and implementation of written Quality Control Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all service lines.
- Collaborate with field crews to establish practical, measurable quality standards.
- Integrate quality control processes into LMN and XOI systems.
- Ensure quality is enforced through documented processes rather than individual judgment alone.
Revenue Growth Support
- Identify enhancement and cross-selling opportunities during field visits.
- Communicate opportunities to the Outside Sales Representative (OSR) team.
- Support customer retention by ensuring exceptional field execution and service quality.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in landscaping, snow management, construction, or a related field service industry.
- Proven experience managing multiple crews and field operations.
- Strong understanding of production management, quality control, and safety compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with LMN, XOI, or similar operational management software preferred.
- Ability to coach, develop, and hold teams accountable.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites daily.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
