EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position plays a key role in maintaining safe and functional highways and bridges by operating equipment and performing essential labor. Your work helps ensure that transportation routes remain open and safe for the public. As a PennDOT CDL Operator, you will perform the following duties:

Equipment Operation: Operate trucks, loaders, and other assigned equipment during maintenance work

Traffic Control: Provide flagging duties to guide vehicles safely through work zones when not operating equipment

Manual Labor: Carry out tasks such as clearing brush, cleaning culverts, digging ditches, and repairing guiderails

Equipment Care: Conduct daily pre- and post-operation checks and perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance

Safety Awareness: Follow safety procedures, use protective equipment, and report hazards, injuries, or equipment issues

Environmental Duties: Apply environmental protection practices required for maintenance activities
Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Hours are subject to change due to weather/season; winter shifts will be 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
