General Responsibilities: Responsible for instructional and general duties as indicated by the Principal(s) and directives of theSuperintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Saugus School Committee.Statement of Duties: Deliver high quality and rigorous instruction aimed at accelerating English language learning, exposing students to content vocabulary, and preparing English Language Learners to move towards proficiency of the English language.Instruct English Language Learners in self-contained ELL classes or in a co-teaching modelAdminister appropriate testing such as WIDA Screener, ACCESSAssist in screening and evaluating ELL students and recommend placement or exit from the program to the Building PrincipalCommunicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students progressEstablish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly and productive classroom environment.Maintain ELL paperwork and folders in compliance with DESE requirementsAssist content teachers with effective inclusion of English Language LearnersParticipate in professional development activities consistent with the districts goals and needs of English Language Learners
