American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Operating Room position requiring prior Peds OR experience and CA licensure, with call and weekend requirements.

Pediatric Operating Room setting within a hospital environment
-
Handles ENT, Urology, Neuro, General, Ortho, and Trauma cases including both inpatient and outpatient procedures
-
Average daily census of approximately 25 patients per day
-
4x10-hour day shifts scheduled from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
-
Uses Surginet charting system
-
Every other weekend requirement
-
On-call responsibilities include a minimum of 3 weekday nights and 2 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Minimum of 1-2 weekend day shifts required per 6-week schedule
-
Role includes functioning as a break nurse for approximately 20% of an 8-hour shift
-
Travelers are prioritized for float assignments
-
Active California RN license required in hand at time of consideration; pending or temporary licenses not accepted

Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (BCLS), and PALS
-
BSN required
-
Minimum 1 year acute care experience with 6 months Pediatric OR experience required

Inpatient or ambulatory experience accepted
-
Prior travel nursing experience required

Trauma Level I experience preferred
-
IV start and circulating skills required
-
Experience with pediatric surgical procedures across General, Orthopedic, Urology, Podiatry, Neurology, and ENT specialties

Knowledge of Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedure required

Two supervisor-level or above references required from the applicable unit, dated within 1 year of start date or from most recent employer

Circulate for a variety of pediatric surgical cases including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, craniotomy, spinal fusion, tonsillectomy, and more
-
Function as a break nurse for approximately 20% of shift time

Up to 16 hours of orientation modules may be required, varying by specialty
-
Candidates must be aware of and agreeable to float, call, and weekend requirements prior to starting
-
Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted; no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
-
Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
-
Former staff must be separated for at least 1 year before reapplying
