Color Management Specialist / Digital Wallpaper Production
We are seeking a bright, capable digital artist to add to our growing pre-production team. This person will be focused on color-calibrating daily wallpaper production with printed control samples. This involves intensive Photoshop work, in addition to operation of our wide format wallpaper printers during the color-matching process.
Job Description
· Prepare digital files in Photoshop for wide-format wallpaper printing (in-house)
· Make necessary color adjustments in Photoshop to achieve desired result in print
· Precisely match production samples to client-supplied control samples
· Leverage experience in CMYK color gamut to get to desired color matches quickly
· Regularly run strike-offs on in-house printers to achieve necessary color matches
· Create pattern repeats as needed for wallpaper layouts
· Manipulate designs and create new pattern structures as needed
· Employ advanced layering and filtering techniques to achieve different effects/looks with same pattern – proactively explore new techniques
· Build color libraries and standards in RIP software; calibrate using a spectrophotometer and lightbox
· Speak with clients and interface with their design teams as necessary
· Research and communicate innovations in the color and textile industries
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
· Deep experience in color management and knowledge of color theory
· Ability to match color by eye as well as through digital means
· Experience in the printing industry and/or textile industry
· Experience working with RIP software and wide-format printers desired but not mandatory
· Works quickly and able to multi-task across multiple active projects
· Ability to work in fast paced, deadline-driven environment
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to work within a team and open to learning from others
· Excellent computer skills and ability to work efficiently in CAD, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
