We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities, ensuring the comfort and well-being of our clients. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, observation skills, and adherence to health regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Monitor and document patient observations, reporting any changes in health or behavior to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
- Ensure a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Assist with medication reminders and ensure that clients adhere to their prescribed care plans.
- Support clients with mobility needs, including transferring them safely from bed to wheelchair or assisting with walking.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations regarding patient information.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance caregiving skills.
Qualifications
- Preferably a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current California registration with the Home Care Services Bureau.
- Previous experience in long-term care, home health, or senior care is preferred.
- Knowledge of hospice care principles is a plus.
- Strong observational skills for monitoring patient conditions effectively.
- Ability to perform caregiving tasks with compassion and respect for client dignity.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and their families.
- Must be able to maintain a clean work environment and follow safety protocols.
- Certification as a Home Health Aide or similar qualification is preferred but not required.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must be over the age of 18, have access to an automobile in good operating condition and hold a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
