Position Summary
The Traffic Control Technician I is responsible for loading the truck, setting up and picking up traffic control devices, and safely directing traffic around construction zones and workplaces.
Position Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Position Preferences:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1 year of previous traffic control experience
Position Details:
- Type: This is a Full-Time, hourly/non-exempt position that is entitled to overtime pay
- Hours: Varied working hours typically between Monday and Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with frequent night, weekend, and holiday work
- Overtime: Based on weather and workload
- Meal Breaks: Meal breaks of 30 minutes or longer may be taken and are unpaid
Essential Functions
- Set up temporary work zones, lane closures, road closures, etc. in a safe manner
- Service traffic control
- Assist with installing, repairing, and replacing signs according to standard procedures
- Ensure the use of proper, non-faulty equipment
- Recognize and remove faulty equipment safely
- Properly load traffic control devices and secure them

- Report any incidents or unsafe work practices to supervisor
