Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Boiler/Retort Operator/Mechanic to join our industrial maintenance team. In this vital role, you will operate, monitor, and maintain boiler systems and related mechanical equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation across our facilities. Duties
- Operate and control boiler systems to meet operational demands while ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of high-pressure steam boiler to generate steam that supplies power for the processing area.
- Operate and tend sterilizing equipment (Retort Vessel) based on the set standard of Retorting schedules and procedures.
- Responsible for implementing food safety and quality parameters and procedures.
- Responsible for the implementation of corrective actions in cases of non-conformances.
- Perform routine inspections of boilers, pumps, valves, and associated mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools; perform repairs as needed.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on boilers, HVAC/R systems, hydraulics, and other industrial equipment to minimize downtime.
- Monitor system parameters via gauges, control panels, and digital interfaces; adjust controls for optimal performance.
- Maintain detailed logs of operations, maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with field service teams to diagnose complex problems and implement effective solutions quickly.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in industrial mechanics and boiler systems.
- With a License to Operate Steam Boiler, Black Seal License.
- Knowledgeable in the use of tools to operate boiler machines & auxiliary equipment.
- Knowledgeable on manufacturing, specifically in sterilization processes, procedures, and machineries.
- Knowledgeable in the use of tools to calibrate thermometers and pressure gauges.
- Has knowledge of Canned Foods Thermal Process Control.
- Knowledgeable in PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers).
- Must be able to identify potential safety hazards, including unsafe boiler operations, electrical equipment installations, and calibration operations & take immediate action to correct the hazard & report to the immediate superior.
- Has a good work attitude, is self-motivated, and is able to build teamwork, results-oriented, hardworking, and flexible.

- Willing to report for duty during emergencies or to cover shifts on short notice to ensure adequate staffing to operate the plant.
- Can work in varying shifts and is willing to render overtime when required.
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical diagrams, and system manuals related to HVAC/R, hydraulics, and industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration components.
Pay: $28.47 - $33.29 per hour
