- Engineering Support Specialist
About the Role
The Support Specialist provides technical support to internal and external clients, resolving hardware, software, and system issues. This on-site role also supports remote locations and is responsible for hardware installations, software upgrades, system integrations, and IT troubleshooting. The role applies engineering principles to system design, development, testing, and documentation, while supporting technical solutions that meet customer requirements. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams including Development, Manufacturing, and Quality, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
What You’ll Do
· Provide first- and second-line support for desktops, networks, tester systems, servers, and end-user devices, both on-site and remotely.
· Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain hardware, software, and applications in line with lifecycle policies.
· Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
· Monitor system and equipment performance; analyze downtime and implement corrective and preventive actions.
· Lead and support installation of cables, equipment, and servers; assist engineers with new system setup and testing.
· Evaluate systems and recommend improvements, repairs, and root cause solutions to enhance reliability.
· Participate in IT projects, recommending technology solutions and process improvements.
· Develop maintenance and testing procedures; ensure systems meet safety, regulatory, and company standards.
· Support production uptime by minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment readiness; provide limited after-hours support as needed.
· Collaborate on automation efforts (e.g., scripts) to improve system recovery and efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
· 5+ years of experience in networks, systems maintenance, and IT support.
· Proficiency with Windows 11, Remote Desktop, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
· Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, including flowcharts and system diagrams.
· Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networks.
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Familiarity with ticketing systems and incident management.
· Ability to lift/move equipment (25–50 lbs) and work in tight spaces.
A Plus To Have
· Experience in production or manufacturing environments.
· Basic scripting/automation experience (e.g., PowerShell).
· Bilingual (Spanish).
Work Environment
This role operates primarily on a production floor, working at ESD-safe workstations and throughout the facility supporting systems and equipment. The position involves both seated work and mobility, including equipment installation and remote support.
Requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to handle delicate components, as well as lifting up to 25–50 lbs and working in tight spaces.
Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
