Westlake Christian School, a premier private school in the greater Tampa Bay region on Florida’s west coast, is seeking a highly motivated, engaged, and passionate Middle School Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will be joining an already robust and collaborative math team.

Overview
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in math instruction, an enthusiastic passion for teaching and learning, the ability to articulate a Biblical worldview, and demonstrate the highest standards of excellence both professionally and personally. This role involves developing engaging lesson plans, utilizing learning technology, and supporting students. The Middle School Math Teacher will play a vital role in inspiring students to achieve their academic potential, develop critical thinking skills, and be prepared for math courses in high school and beyond.
Duties
- Design and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
- Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) to track student progress, assign coursework, and communicate with students and parents.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of all students.
- Develop assessments to evaluate student understanding and provide constructive feedback to support academic growth.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective management strategies and techniques.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to mathematics education and the developmental needs of middle school students.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and school-wide initiatives.
- Provide academic and tutoring support to help students excel academically and build confidence in their abilities.
- Maintain clear communication with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of mathematics concepts in preparation for and including algebra and geometry.
- Familiarity with current best practices and professional literature related to teaching mathematics.
- Proficient in the use and integration of learning technology tools that enhance instruction and student engagement.
- Proficiency in using LMS platforms for lesson planning, grading, and communication purposes.
- Proficient in integrating the Biblical worldview into instruction.
- Ability to differentiate instruction effectively to meet the learning needs of all students.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for engaging students, parents, and colleagues professionally.
- Familiarity with the unique developmental needs of middle school students.
- Experience in teaching math in middle school or high school settings is preferred.
- Master’s degree preferred.

This position is a full-time, salaried, exempt position and compensation is competitive for the greater Tampa Bay area. Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
