Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that support children’s social-emotional development.
- Conduct ongoing child development assessments to tailor instruction to individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress, address concerns, and promote collaborative support for each child's growth.
- Ensure safety by adhering to mandated reporting laws, maintaining first aid and CPR certifications, and following health and safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, classroom activities, and school-wide initiatives to enhance learning experiences.
- Support children’s physical activity through engaging physical education lessons and promote overall wellness within the classroom setting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, demonstrating strong classroom management skills.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development techniques, and early intervention strategies.
- Familiarity with special education practices, behavior management techniques, and standardized testing methods for young children.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration.
- Valid certification in first aid and CPR; ongoing professional development in early childhood education preferred.
- Experience with Montessori methods or other specialized curricula such as literacy education or math instruction is a plus.
- Ability to create an inclusive environment that supports diverse learners’ needs while fostering curiosity and independence.
