CDL Driver – Multi-Service

Position Summary
The CDL Driver is responsible for the safe, compliant, and professional operation of A-1 Little John Site Services vehicles across multiple service lines, including roll-off dumpsters, industrial services, vacuum truck operations, pump & haul, and other CDL-required site services. This role delivers prompt, courteous, and complete service to customers while ensuring all company, state, and federal safety regulations are followed at all times. Drivers are accountable for vehicle readiness, daily inspections, accurate documentation, and representing A-1 Little John with professionalism on every job site.
The driver will be required to operate hydraulic hoists, secure and transport dumpsters and equipment, and ensure proper placement and retrieval of containers or waste at customer locations. This role demands a dedicated, reliable, and professional individual with strong attention to safety, route management, and customer satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform complete pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections in accordance with company policy, including tires, fluids, safety equipment, gauges, and controls; report all safety or mechanical issues using required reports.
- Safely operate CDL-required vehicles to and from job sites, disposal facilities, landfills, or treatment locations as assigned by dispatch or supervision.
- Operate manual and/or automatic truck controls and service-specific equipment in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain the operational/mechanical efficiency of the vehicle.
- Read work orders, route sheets, and job instructions; follow maps and schedules to complete assigned services accurately and on time.
- Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers, supervisors, and job-site personnel to ensure a professional customer experience.
- Monitor materials and waste for compliance with job specifications and regulatory requirements; report unacceptable conditions per company procedures.
- Respond appropriately to spills or site issues, maintaining safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company standards.
- Continuously monitor vehicle condition during operation to minimize downtime; maintain cleanliness of vehicle and equipment as required.
- Complete all required documentation, including vehicle condition reports (VCRs), route or job productivity sheets, and any service-specific paperwork.
- Adhere to departmental productivity, safety, and service standards to ensure efficient and timely job completion.
- Follow all company safety policies and actively participate in required safety and SOP programs.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate pride, accountability, and attention to detail in all work performed.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to carry/lift over 75 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
- Work in outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Requires frequent standing, bending, lifting, and climbing in and out of trucks.
- Must be able to maintain alertness and acuity not impaired by medication, diet, or physical condition.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License with air brakes endorsement and a clean driving record (0 accidents, fewer than 8 MVR points).
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating roll-off trucks or related heavy-duty vehicles.
- Ability to meet all company, state, and federal driving and safety requirements.
- Ability to perform physical requirements associated with CDL site service operations, including competently loading, securing, and transporting dumpsters.
- Must maintain a DOT physical and medical card.
- Experience with industrial waste transportation, construction site deliveries, or waste management is preferred.
- Ability to use navigation systems, dispatch software, and electronic logs (ELDs).
- Strong communication skills for customer interactions and team coordination.
- Strong understanding of the mechanical function of CDL vehicles.
