Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that foster early childhood education, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods
- Create engaging lesson plans that support child development milestones and encourage curiosity and creativity
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and effective classroom management techniques
- Facilitate activities that promote social-emotional growth, behavior management, and cooperative play
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavioral updates, and developmental milestones
- Ensure safety standards are met by maintaining a clean, organized classroom and adhering to first aid and CPR protocols
- Support children with special education needs or early intervention programs to ensure inclusive learning experiences
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, with a strong understanding of childhood development principles
- Knowledge of curriculum development, literacy education, and classroom management strategies
- Experience with special education, early intervention programs, and behavior management techniques
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and child welfare regulations
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in Montessori or childhood education are preferred
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and administrators
- Ability to plan lessons aligned with standardized testing standards when applicable
- Prior experience in private school environments or Reggio or Montessori settings is highly desirable
