Duties
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card payments
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos
- Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure products are well-presented and accessible for customers
- Conduct product demos when applicable to highlight features and promote sales opportunities
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including cash drawer handling and balancing cash registers at shift end
- Assist with merchandising efforts to optimize product placement and store appearance
- Support upselling techniques by suggesting additional items or promotions to customers during checkout
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or grocery store environments is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and basic math skills for accurate transactions
- Strong communication skills and phone etiquette to engage confidently with customers
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Supervising experience is beneficial for team collaboration and leadership opportunities
- Knowledge of liquor store product knowledge, merchandising, and stock management practices
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift merchandise, and perform physical tasks associated with stocking duties
