Engineering Technician

Schedule: 9/80 Workweek | On-Site
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of additional education and/or related experience.
- Willingness to work any shift and cover extended work weeks as required.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of manufacturing operations and procedures, particularly mechanical assembly, with a high attention to detail.
- Hands-on knowledge and experience using a variety of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Looking for an Engineering Technician 2 to support the Space Systems Integration, Test, and Launch Execution directorate. As a member of the Spacecraft Operations department, you will be responsible for the assembly, test, and launch of a wide variety of spacecraft and payloads.
- Perform a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development, assembly, and integration of Space Vehicle mechanical and electro-mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
- Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies.
- Participate in the development of subsystem and system test methodologies.
- Assist with setting up and testing complete prototype and flight units and subassemblies under operational conditions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office to support work orders and other data requirements.
- Ability to read and comprehend drawings, process specifications, and work order instructions.
- Experience working in clean room environments.
- Proficient use of precision measuring instruments.
- Experience with spacecraft production and test methodologies.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS
- 9/80 workweek
- Position is 100% on-site in Redondo Beach, CA.
Pay: $49.00 per hour
