Overview
Medical Assistant/Front Office professional for solo Pediatric Cardiology practice starting in St. Johns County. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional service while supporting clinical operations. Part-time to start (2-3 days/week) with potential for a full-time position as the practice grows.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Obtain and record vital signs and current medications to support accurate patient assessments.
- Prepare exam rooms, assist providers during examinations (as needed), and perform clinical tasks such as obtaining resting ECGs and placing Holter monitors.
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient flow coordination, and follow-up communications to optimize clinic operations.
- Document medical encounters accurately, including detailed medical records management in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Support clinical staff with procedures related to cardiology such as echocardiograms as needed.
- Handle administrative duties such as answering phones, managing patient intake forms, verifying insurance information, and maintaining organized medical documentation.
Experience
- Experience working in a medical office environment with familiarity in outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Hands-on experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems; proficiency in managing medical documentation is essential.
- Understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and pharmacology to support accurate patient care documentation.
- Previous experience working within Pediatrics strongly enhances your suitability for this role.
- Knowledge of a second language such as Spanish or Haitian Creole desirable but not required.
- Excellent patient/customer service skills essential.
