Job Description
Under close direction from storekeeper, or supervision by food service management, receives, stores and distributes supplies and equipment.
1. Adheres to all OSHA and/or Ohio University required safety guidelines.
2. Receives shipments, unloads stock and checks for correct quantity and condition; stores, issues and may deliver supplies and equipment; may be responsible for laundry; assists in maintenance of perpetual inventory control; maintains all related records; answers phone.
3. Maintains clean and orderly storeroom, refrigerators and freezers. Reports accidents and malfunctioning equipment.
4. Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of proper storage and food handling techniques;
- Ability to carry out simple instructions in written, oral, and pictorial form;
- Ability to work independently or with others;
- Willingness to foster a welcoming and respectful workforce and community
- Ability to read & write common vocabulary in sentence structure;
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide whole numbers, calculate fractions, decimals & percentages;
- Ability to apply principles to solve practical problems;
- Knowledge of all applicable OSHA and/or Ohio University safety guidelines and procedures;
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (occasional stock weight 60-80 lbs.);
- Successful completion of a test may be required;
- Valid Driver’s license;
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures, prolonged standing (8 hours/day), heights.
- Established pattern of good work habits and performance with good interpersonal skills.
