Job Title: Cooler & Dunnage Manager Job Summary
The Cooler & Dunnage Manager is responsible for the organization, inventory rotation, and day-to-day operation of Baker Distributing's Cooler and Dunnage (Returns) areas. This role requires a skilled and confident forklift operator with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesCooler & Dunnage Organization
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe cooler and dunnage area.
· Ensure aisles and traffic lanes remain clear for efficient inbound and outbound product movement.
· Organize inventory daily to maximize storage efficiency and accessibility.
Rotation
Cooler
· Rotate fresh product using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
· Restock inventory while monitoring code dates.
· Identify and manage Out-of-Code (OOC) and Close-to-Code (CTC) product.
Dunnage
· Consolidate and palletize empty kegs and distressed product.
· Prepare dunnage for outbound shipment.
· Maintain an organized returns area.
Cooperage Returns
· Coordinate and process returns to the appropriate suppliers.
· Ensure accurate documentation of all returned assets.
Supplier Returns
· Pick, palletize, and prepare supplier return orders.
· Coordinate supplier returns on the next available outbound shipment.
· Complete all required Return to Supplier documentation accurately.
Inventory
· Perform regular inventory counts for all dunnage located in the northern warehouse.
· Participate in scheduled cooler inventory counts.
Picking Support
· Monitor daily cooler picking progress throughout the day.
· Assist in picking when picking volumes require additional support.
· Audit keg picks for accuracy.
· Confirm all cooler picking procedures are completed before the end of each shift.
Driver Check In:
· Check in delivery drivers as they return to the warehouse.
· Audit end of day reports against returning,
· & damaged product, returning cooperage & undelivered product.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Certified or highly competent forklift operator.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Understanding of FIFO inventory management and freshness policies.
· Excellent attention to detail, particularly with code dates and return documentation.
· Ability to lift up to 62 lbs repeatedly.
· Ability to safely move products weighing up to 172 lbs
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Daily Workflow (Including but not limited too)Morning
· Put away any unreceived products from overnight or early morning deliveries
· Restock product using FIFO practices.
· Check for Out-of-Code (OOC) and Close-to-Code (CTC) products.
· Sweep and clean the cooler, removing garbage and debris.
Midday
· Organize the dunnage area.
· Consolidate cooperage and wrap completed pallets for storage.
· Load the TOMRA trailer with full pallets of distressed product and bagged plastic wrap.
· Monitor keg picking progress and provide assistance when necessary.
Afternoon
· Put away products received during the late morning or early afternoon.
· Monitor case picking progress and assist when needed.
· Verify all cooler picking procedures have been completed.
· Complete the daily keg pick audit.
· Perform a final organization of the dunnage area before the end of the shift.
